16th Avishkar Research Convention

16th Inter-Collegiate/Institute/Department Avishkar Research Convention 2021-22 was conducted online by Department of Students’ Development, University of Mumbai. Out of 28 Research Proposals (34 student participants) from SIES College, 8 Research Proposals were selected for the Zonal Level Final rounds and 2 of our students secured ranks in the Final rounds. SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sion (W) was awarded Overall Championship (First Rank) in the 16th Avishkar Research Convention 2021-2022 from Mumbai University in Zone-II.
Blood Donation Drive

The NSS Unit organised a Blood Donation Drive in College premises inviting students and teachers and non teaching staffs across all streams from the College. All the mechnical assistance was extended by the Sion Hospital Blood Ban, Sion , Mumbai. The NSS volunteers managed to convince pedestrians and passersby to come to College for donating blood. The programme started with ribbon cutting by the Principal Dr. Uma Shakar and successfully collected 84 units of blood. The technical head from Sion Hospital delivered a talk on collection of blood and its significance and usage to the NSS Volunteers and asked them to always donate and encourage other also to.

1. To explain, how to manage home kitchen-waste.
2. To understand risk of waste and its effect on human health.
3. To explain how to protect Vasundhara and Nature.
QFIESTA-2022

Science association organized QFIESTA-2022 on 25th February 2022 at 9.00am on MS TEAMS platform.
QFIESTA-2022: A theme-based quiz on general science was organized. A total 77 student were registered from various colleges, 27 participated in the quiz.

Yoga Banaye Niroga’ Workshop

Philosophy Association, jointly with the NSS and NCC units of SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous) organised the workshop on ‘Chair Yoga and Pranayam’, under the theme YOGA BANAYE NIROGA. This was to commemorate the International Yoga Day 2021. The workshop focused on instilling a consistent and healthy habit of practicing Yoga and Pranayam to promote well-being and wellness. The target participants were the non-teaching staff of the college. They being an important stakeholder of the institution and considering their lifestyles issues and health problems, the workshop helped create awareness in them about the importance of physical and mental health. Along with the non-teaching staff, teachers and students enthusiastically participated in the event.
