The department of Biochemistry in collaboration with Center for excellence, SIES College had organized a two day workshop 'Basic skills in Microsoft office' for TYBSc on 6th February and 2nd Marchn 2020. Biochemistry (3 Units) .MS Office being the most widely used application around the world, every student /working professional needs hands-on knowledge to complete his tasks effectively. In this course, the participants were introduced to MS Word , MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Industrial Visit to Nashik-Saputara

Department of Biochemistry organised a three day Industrial Visit to Nashik-Saputara for the students of TYBSc and MSc. They visited Sula Wines and Sahyadri Farms during the course of their trip. Industrial visit enabled the students to get an exposure to industrial set up of the techniques which they learn in their academic curriculum.

The Department of Biochemistry celebrated the fifth birthday of its very own event DE NOVO this year. DE NOVO, a celebration of creativity and knowledge has always been organized under the banner of UTKARSH, the college festival. The festival was a one and half day affair. It was an event by the students, of the students and for the students conducted on 3rd and 4th January 2020.

Two day Crash Course in Physics titled ” Concept Learning in Physics for Entrance Exams in Biological Sciences - 2017”. The objective of the workshop is to help undergraduate students in biological sciences to brush up their concepts in Physics, as Physics is an integral part of most of the entrance exams for postgraduate courses conducted by various reputed institutes and universities.

The department of Biochemistry, jointly with Mumbai Immunology Group (MIG), Advanced Center for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), organized a one day state level seminar titled “Cancer Biology and Therapy: Recent Developments and New Perspectives” at SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce.A total of 104 participants registered comprising of 88 students and 16 teachers from various colleges and institutes from within Maharashtra.This state level seminar provided a unique opportunity for the students, academicians, researchers and Scientists to gather and deliberate on various aspects of cancer biology and therapy.
